THE PHANTOM STRING is a studio project launched 2015 by Olaf Kujat to realize his own vision of dark and atmospheric music dealing with paranormal topics. It is intented to produce album oriented only.

Kujats main instrument is the (hardware) synthesizer, which is mostly decreased to a minimum. Acoustic and exotic instruments find their place either. Often instruments with an unique sound like the Waterphone, several Gongs or lastly the Daxophone. While on Primus were a lot of machinery noise and metallic sounds, so the second album Twin features an increased use of Mellotron and Daxophone sounds.

THE PHANTOM STRING ist ein rein albumorientiertes Studioprojekt, welches 2015 von Olaf Kujat gegründet wurde, um seine Vision von dunkler, atmosphärischer Musik, rund um paranormale Themen zu verwirklichen.

Kujats Hauptinstrument, der Synthesizer, ist zumeist auf ein Minimum beschränkt. Akustische und exotische Instrumente finden bei The Phantom String ebenso ihren Platz. Oft Instrumente mit eigenwilligem Klang, wie das Waterphone, verschiedene Gongs und neuerdings das Daxophon. War auf Primus noch ein hoher Anteil von Maschinenklängen und Metallgeräuschen, so ist auf dem zweiten Album Twin der häufige Einsatz von Mellotron und Daxophon zu hören.
